Playing sports is linked to numerous benefits for kids – like boosting confidence, building teamwork skills, and promoting overall health and fitness. But, despite our best efforts, accidents can still happen. Every year in the US, more than 3.5 million kids under 14 end up getting treated for sports-related injuries. That’s a lot of bumps, bruises, and sprains! It doesn’t stop there – high school athletes alone rack up about 2 million injuries and 30,000 hospital visits each year.
So how can you help play a role in creating a culture of safety and support in youth sports? It all starts with making sure athletes have the proper training, equipment, supervision, and access to medical care.
